Spin the wheel on your live stream
A spinning wheel for OBS, Streamlabs, Twitch, YouTube and Kick. Add it to your scene as a browser source, keep this site open on a second screen, and every spin, every new entry and every winner shows up on stream a second later. Free, no account.
The Stream / OBS panel. It lives on every wheel page, above the entry list.
How it works
-
Build your wheel
Open the main wheel or any wheel from the list, type your entries (or paste them in Text Mode) and pick a layout and a colour theme. What you see here is exactly what your viewers will see.
-
Create the overlay link
Click the Stream / OBS button above the entry list and press Create overlay link. Copy the link that appears; it looks like
spinthewheel.net/stream/…. Keep this page open: it is your control panel. -
Add it to OBS
In OBS Studio: Sources → + → Browser. Paste the link into URL, set Width 700 and Height 700, leave the rest as it is and click OK. Drag the wheel to where you want it in the scene. The same steps work in Streamlabs Desktop, XSplit, vMix or any software with a browser source.
OBS → Sources →+→Browser→ URLhttps://spinthewheel.net/stream/…→ Width700→ Height700→ OK
That is all. Press Spin on stream, or simply click your own wheel, and the wheel in your scene spins and stops on the same entry.
The overlay in a scene: transparent background, winner banner, optional badge.
What you can do while live
- 1Spin from the panel or from the wheelSpin on stream and a normal click on your wheel do the same thing. The result is picked once, on our server, so both wheels stop on the same entry.
- 2Change entries mid-streamAdd, remove or rename entries, switch the layout or the colour theme; the overlay follows within a second or two. Chat asks for a name to be added? Type it and it is on the wheel.
- 3Winner bannerWhen the wheel stops, the winning entry is shown as a banner on the overlay for six seconds. Turn it off if you prefer to announce winners yourself.
- 4BadgeA small spinthewheel.net badge sits in the corner of the overlay. It can be switched off.
- 5One link per wheelEach overlay link belongs to the wheel you created it from. Built a different wheel? Press Forget this link and create a new one.
- 6Private by designThe link is a long random code and only your browser holds the key that controls it. Viewers see the wheel; they cannot spin it.
Where the button is
The camera icon in the toolbar above the entry list opens the Stream / OBS panel.
Tips for a clean overlay
Size. 700 × 700 keeps everything sharp. Larger is fine too; the wheel scales with the source.
Transparent background. Browser sources in OBS are transparent by default. Do not add a background in Custom CSS and there is nothing to key out.
Second screen. Keep the wheel page open while you stream. If you close it the overlay keeps showing the wheel, but nothing new arrives until you open it again.
Stale overlay? Right-click the source and choose Refresh. The wheel state is kept on our side, so nothing is lost.
Giveaways from chat. Paste the names from chat into Text Mode, one per line, and spin. Every winner is listed in the Results tab.
Ready to go live?
Open the wheel, press Stream / OBS and your overlay link is ready in one click.
Open the wheel and connect OBSCommon questions
Is the OBS overlay free?
Yes. The overlay, the control panel and the winner banner are free, with no account. The only mark is a small spinthewheel.net badge in the corner, and you can switch that off.
Does it work with Streamlabs, Twitch Studio or vMix?
Yes. Anything that can show a web page as a browser source works: OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop, XSplit, vMix, Twitch Studio, Restream Studio. Where you stream to does not matter either: Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok Live or Facebook.
Do my viewers see the same result as me?
Yes. The winning entry is decided once, on the server, before either wheel starts moving, so the wheel on stream and the wheel in your browser always stop on the same entry.
How much delay is there?
The overlay checks for changes every second, so edits and spins reach your scene within one to two seconds, well inside a normal stream delay.
What happens if I close the control page?
The overlay stays on screen with the last state. Nothing spins until you open the wheel page again, and your link keeps working.
Can I run a giveaway with names from chat?
Yes. Collect the names, paste them into Text Mode one per line and spin. The Results tab keeps every winner of the session.
Does the overlay link expire?
Links that are not used for 90 days are removed. As long as you keep streaming with it, it stays.
Can I use my own colours and wheel style?
Yes. The overlay uses the same layout, colour theme and custom colours as the wheel you built, including the plain rainbow layout.
Is the result really random?
Yes. When you spin on stream the winner is chosen on the server with a cryptographically secure random number generator, and the animation is then aimed at it. The wheel never decides by wherever it happens to stop.
